Guest Room Paint Colour Update

Yes…I am still talking about the guestroom paint colour. It did cause a little debate on facebook and amongst friends and family, with everyone taking different sides. If you will remember, the room started out yellow, VERY yellow.

Guestroom Before

I was going to do the paneling treatment and see how the yellow looked being contained to a small portion of the room. However, once I painted the bottom 2/3 of the wall white, and got started on the paneling one thing became abundently clear…

YELLOW WAS OUT.

Paneling added & painted white

OMG how could it have gotten any brighter?! It’s worse than when the whole room was yellow. I just don’t know how that’s even possible.

It also got me doubting green. If the yellow was this acid, was green really gonna be any better? Yeah… I didn’t think so. So it’s decided, grey it is. Don’t fret though, I will add some colour in there somehow.

So here’s a sneak peek of the new paint colour, and a bit of a view of how the board & batten turned out. I have a few more things that need to get done in the room before a full reveal, but I couldn’t leave you hanging.

  1. Love the grey! A lot better than the yellow (which appear dated very quickly). Very nice job on the paneling! I might ask you for advice on how to do that one the day I own a place. 😉
