This weekend is the big Canadian blogging conference Blog Podium. Attending will be a plethora of Canadian lifestyle and home bloggers, great speakers, and even some of my fave HGTV show hosts. El Granto and I could not attend last year, as we were DIYing our concrete countertops. This year nothing is gonna stop us, and we will be there in full force. As the days tick down (5 sleeps!), I am trying to get my ducks in a row for the conference. i.e. Choosing an outfit, getting my nails done etc.
One of the items on my to do list was procure a notebook. You know, for notes. I wandered around Chapters Indigo today attempting to find something, but that task was daunting. So many notepads, so much choice, so much not me. I’m not the girl who writes in a notepad covered in owls, nor am the inspirational quote kinda person. I also didn’t want so show up with a neon green notepad, or something that was as obnoxious as I normally am. I gave up, went and looked at cutting boards then came home and had a drink. Clearly notepad choosing was a harder task than I imagined.
I was sitting on the sofa, drink in hand, when out of nowhere I had an idea. I got up, grabbed a few supplies from around the house, and 15 minutes later I had DIY’d myself a fabric covered notebook.
How To:
Take an old Notebook
+ Fabric (Michael Miller Disco Dot in black & white)
+ Xyron 9″ Creative Station sticker maker
Run fabric through sticker maker
Cut out notepad sized fabric sticker & apply sticker to notebook cover
= Fabric Covered Notebook!
Now for a pen…
